Involvement

At Sheeley the expectation is to do well for clients and colleagues, and to do good for our fellow citizens. The team at Sheeley is committed to a variety of causes and social programs that serve the greater NYC area as well as the local communities where attorneys and staff live. While some team members donate meals and supplies to neighborhood kitchens and refrigerators that support families battling food insecurity, others donate their time for mentorship programs, clothing and gift drives, community clean-ups, and awareness events. Please review our attorney biography pages for additional information related to the individual initiatives in which they are involved.

The firm is a sponsor of annual events for the following organizations, which support women, children, diversity, and medical research. We invite you to learn more about each organization below.

Bike 4 Chai

In 2009, a solitary rider named Dovid Egert, a devoted Chai Lifeline volunteer, raised $10,000 in donations sponsoring a 135-mile bike ride from his home in Lakewood, NJ to Camp Simcha in Glen Spey , NY. His revolutionary ride provided the children of Camp Simcha with the summer of a lifetime and sparked an enormous innovation in fundraising. The following year Dovid was joined by 39 additional riders and Bike4Chai was established with proceeds to directly benefit the children and families of Chai Lifeline. Chai Lifeline has grown from a small, community-based summer camp program for children with cancer to one of the preeminent international health support networks to meet the unique emotional, social, and financial needs of families living with serious pediatric illness or loss.

The firm is a proud to sponsor rider Akiva Rudner during the annual 180-mile ride through breathtaking scenery in three states over the course of two days. The riders experience a cohesive, motivational ride of unity, knowing their physical undertaking supports Camp Simcha. The children of Camp Simcha, which translates to “joy,” are granted an unforgettable two-week reprieve from their pain, fear, and challenges of their serious or chronic illness. A summer in Camp Simcha is an extraordinary opportunity for hundreds of children to restore their fighting spirit and renew their determination to defeat illness and suffering.
